Job Description

The Office of Admissions at Virginia Military Institute is seeking qualified candidates for a Regional New Cadet Recruiter.

A Regional New Cadet Recruiter’s purpose is to attract, recruit and drive prospective cadets in assigned regions to apply to VMI through a variety of methods, including visiting high schools and JROTC programs, community colleges, attending state/national college fairs, conducting enrollment presentations, managing recruitment correspondence through VMI’s new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and coordinating and assisting with on- and off-post recruitment programs.

The Regional New Cadet Recruiter communicates daily with prospective students and families and manages events designed to develop relationships with high school and community college counselors. This position will also support the broader mission of the Office of Admissions by assisting with general recruitment activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Territory assignments will be based on business needs and could change annually. The incumbents must be willing to reside in Virginia and frequently travel within their primary regions to visit local schools, JROTC programs, and community colleges. They must also be amenable to attending events and meetings on post in Lexington, Virginia, and other recruitment regions when needed. The ideal candidates would reside in northern Virginia, the greater Richmond area, or in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area.

Additional Qualifications:

This position requires heavy travel in the state of Virginia and the assigned national regions during primary recruiting periods. These positions will also travel to VMI once per month.

Candidates can apply at: Regional New Cadet Recruiting-Job Application

In a continuing effort to enrich its academic environment and provide equal educational and employment opportunities, VMI encourages women, minorities, disabled individuals, and veterans to apply. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are also encouraged to apply.
