Are you passionate about supporting people and creating a positive workplace? We're looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our team and gain hands-on HR experience. In this role, you'll assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and other HR functions while developing valuable skills in a professional setting.
This is an in-office position (remote work is not available).
What You'll Do
As a Human Resources Intern, you'll work closely with the HR team on various tasks, including:
Recruitment:
Assist in reviewing and updating job descriptions and job postings.
Screen resumes and applications.
Support the creation of recruitment videos.
New Hire Process & Onboarding:
Prepare new hire packets and onboarding materials.
Conduct reference checks and process background screenings.
Assist in organizing new employee orientation and staff training materials.
Safety & Compliance:
Help track workers' compensation cases.
Prepare documentation for safety training and fire drills.
Administrative & Employee Support:
Summarize and edit bi-weekly attendance, tardiness, and holiday reports.
Prepare exit packets and COBRA documents.
Research and assist with various HR-related topics.
Organize employee events, recognition programs, and engagement activities.
Maintain employee records electronically.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A strong interest in Human Resources and employee engagement.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Great organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with Dropbox is a plus.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree (or currently pursuing a degree), preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
Technology Skills: Basic experience with Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
Transportation: Must be able to commute regularly to locations in San Mateo and Burlingame, with occasional travel to San Jose and Saratoga.
Licensing: A valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
Must pass a background check upon hire.
