Product Engineer - 2nd Shift
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer for our 2nd Shift operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality standards are met in the manufacturing process, particularly within the aerospace and defense sectors. This role involves collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement quality assurance processes for mechanical manufacturing systems.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Document nonconformance issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
- Collaborate with design and project managers to ensure manufacturing readiness reviews are conducted.
- Participate in Program Development Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) to assess product quality risks.
- Perform Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
- Analyze quality metrics and statistical data to drive process improvements using Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
- Conduct internal quality audits and collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with AS9100 and DoD standards.
- Develop and review inspection and test procedures, process plans, and quality requirements for RFQs and quoting activities.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical data analysis tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Must be a resident of North Alabama
Salary: $75,000 - $135,000 Benefits - 401(K)
