Job Description

The Project Manager role must be proficient communication and project management skills. Meets deadlines and completes assigned task timely. Leads team meetings and discussions to achieve goals for systems use and improve live dispatch. Trouble shoots issues and works with IT to resolve system constraints to allow for live dispatching.

Create SOP for Operations on specific live dispatch by account or for manual entry on data required in McLeod. Create SOP for daily data conciliation from previous day. Works with IT to determine data extraction for Billing Team to utilize on weekly invoices. Kicks off new business startup calls and manages the transition with all departments, including operations. 

This position will report to the Director of Projects and will support our business development effort.

Essential Duties Include:

  1. Travel requirement- up to 50% depending on business needs.
  2. Trained in all TCI systems and operate at a superuser level.

  3. Trained in all aspects of account management for TCI.
    1. Trained in all Driver Manager job responsibilities. All Operating systems, Recruiting, Dispatch functions, Invoicing, Payroll, Safety, Maintenance and P&L responsibility
  4. Travel and manage accounts with vacant Managers on short notice.
  5. Managing, tracking, and executing all assigned Company Projects and Company Startups.
    1. Staying committed to startup sites for at least 30-60 days and completing all task.
    2. Conduct customer transition calls and update company project plan regularly.
    3. Review startup transition with the Customers.
    4. Communicate with all departments on new start up plan.
    5. Train and Hire all new staff at startups including Drivers, Admins, Dispatchers and Driver Managers.
  6. Manage Training program for all new Dispatchers, Driver Managers, and Regional Managers.
    1. Make sure 5-week training plan is completed and executed.
    2. Make sure Operations training Manual is completed and signed off by Trainee and Manager completing the Training.
  7. Provide weekly status updates to Director of Projects on all outstanding projects and task.
  8. Start times, work hours and workdays are determined based on the strict need of the completion of company projects and account needs.
  9. Fully versed in all DOT and Company rules and regulations on Hours of Service.
  10. Regular worksite attendance is an essential function of the job and is necessary for a variety of reasons including but not limited to teamwork, face-to-face interaction with clients, and working with items or equipment that are at the place of business.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience needed:

To be successful in this position you will be a quick learner, self-driven, disciplined, and thoughtful, natural with follow-up and follow-through, detail-oriented and being outside the office 50% of the time, traveling to all TCI locations. Most importantly you will have a genuine interest in project management and training.

  • Solid understanding of trucking principles and practices and the fundamentals of transportation
  • Proven Data Analytics skillset
  • Excellent business acumen and experience in business strategy development and execution

  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office.
  • A high level of business ethics and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
