Description:
Develops, implements, and expands mission-centered programs that engage K-12 students and teachers as well as youth and families. Leads all K-12 initiatives that engage thousands of students each year.
1. Leads the development, refinement, and growth of strategies for engaging K-12 and family audiences. Expands upon existing curricula, interdisciplinary frameworks, and state and national educational goals.
2. Establishes and expands partnerships across UH System and with a vast network of schools and youth programs in Houston and surrounding areas to implement new models of cultural participation and uplift public art in the collection.
3. Develop and implements K-12 and family programs in response to Public Art UHS?s permanent collection, exhibitions, and installations across UH System universities. Programs include Family & Community Day, Evening Educators, Virtual Family Art Workshops, and tours and school visits.
4. Creates and implements didactic materials, artmaking activities, and other educational resources that foster unique experiences with artworks in the collection.
5. Establishes, tracks, and reports on program goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across K-12 and family programs through evaluation and program documentation.
6. Supports fundraising, cultivation, and reporting efforts in partnership with program collaborators and University Advancement.
7. Identifies and applies for funding and grant opportunities to support existing and new initiatives.
8. Prepares and oversees the annual budget for K-12 and family programs by tracking income and expenditures
9. Determines allotted funding amounts for students and works with UH Parking & Transportation to coordinate schedules.
10. Recruits and mentors Graduate Assistants and Public Art Student Ambassadors. Provides training for all student workers and staff who will be presenting public-facing tours.
11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Preferred: Master's Degree Experience:
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related professional experience. Certification/Licensing: Requires a valid Texas Driver?s License.
