Primary Role Responsible for the on-site inspection of construction work for water resource projects in the transmission and distribution department. Key Accountabilities

  • Conducts on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure conformance to contract documents.
  • Oversees compliance with the requirements of permits or approvals granted for construction. Coordinate with permitting agencies for inspections and certifications of compliance.
  • Represents the Water Company as the primary point of on-site contact for construction contractors. Serve as a liaison between construction contractors and the Water Company.
  • Represents the Water Company as primary point of contact for customers when scheduling service line work on customers property and collecting water samples from the customer.
  • Prepare project documentation in accordance with Company Standards.
  • Maintains records of work changes and assists in preparation of "as built" records.
  • Review and approval of construction contractor progress payments. Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of engineering specifications and surveying principles.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Knowledge of federal and company safety regulations, and knowledge of critical path and method scheduling principles.
  • Coordinating, scheduling and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read engineering plans and specifications.
  • Communication skills (e.g., verbal, listening and recording).
  • Interpersonal skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation).
  • Attention to details. Experience/Education
  • Four (4) years experience on water transmission, distribution, installation, replacement, and repair.
  • High School Diploma.Work Environment
  • 90% Field/10% Office. Travel Requirements
