Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Accountant that will be responsible for assisting in managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and providing financial analysis for construction projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including contract management, and financial forecasting.

Our Accountant will report to our Director of Finance and engage with various stakeholders, including Project Managers, Subcontractors, and Vendors, to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. The role will aid in ensuring the financial health and success of our projects and will significantly impact the company's bottom line.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Track and analyze job costs, including labor, materials, and overhead costs associated with construction projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and submit progress billings and invoices to clients based on project milestones.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss financial performance and address any financial concerns.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting | Finance or a related field.
  • 2+ years of work experience in Accounting and experience in the Construction Industry preferable.
  • Knowledge of Construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Accounting software QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 and Construction Software Procore a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
