Job Description



AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Architecture Designer I for immediate employment in Los Angeles, California.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
  • Preparing detailed specifications, reports, and related data tables for project documentation.
  • Maintaining effective liaison with design and drafting groups to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, performing technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinating technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments participating in assigned projects.
  • Assisting in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Developing and refining design concepts through sketches, physical models, and computer-generated renderings.
  • Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Conducting research on building materials, products, and construction methods to inform design decisions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Contributing to the development of sustainable design strategies and LEED documentation.
  • Collaborating with senior architects and engineers to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
  • Participating in site visits and field observations to gather information and monitor construction progress.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Architecture from an accredited institution

Qualifications

:
  • 1-3 years of previous design experience in a professional architectural firm
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture, Adobe Photoshop, and Revit
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or Rhino
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED certification process
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts to clients
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and design trends
